Krista Oberlander, LCSW


Krista is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker having obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has over 30 years experience working with individuals, couples and families in the child welfare system. Krista believes that everyone has the capacity to help and heal themselves.

She provides compassionate, effective therapy for stress, anxiety, depression, trauma and grief. She uses a strength-based approach, and incorporates Mindfulness-Based techniques including meditation and yoga, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral, and Strategic Family Therapy techniques.

Krista has been practicing yoga for over 15 years and continues to incorporate mind-body medicine techniques in her personal and work life. She is a certified yoga instructor, having completed the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. She completed the Advanced Mind-Body Medicine Professional Training Program through The Center for Mind-Body Medicine, a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive evidence-based training programs to heal trauma.
Krista also volunteers time by providing therapy for clients being served by Give An Hour, a nonprofit organization serving military families in crisis.
